The election in Greece has decided
That the Eurozone stays undivided;
But the problems remain —
Both in Greece and in Spain —
For which management can’t be one-sided.
The monet’ry woes hitting Greece,
Without precedent and without cease,
Are results that you get
When you increase the debt
Beyond GDP’s rate of increase!
More EU surveillance for banking,
May keep institutions from tanking;
But member state bureaus
Should know that the Euros
Are tied to joint policy cranking.
In Greece they will have an election,
That poses a crucial selection:
To side with the Euro —
A hard row to furrow –
Or back to the drachma defection.
The EU saved Spain from the brink,
Which won’t mean it still couldn’t sink;
But actions much bolder
To comfort bondholders
Will challenge its leaders I think!
